Photos: The Drive to Strive — for Victory

The Guilderland Dutchmen indoor track team competed at Union College Saturday morning to start the season. The Dutch raced away from the competition by winning both the girls’ and boys’ titles; the girls’ team had 140 points while the boys’ had 130.50.

Making it look easy: Hannah Durant glides over the hurdle in the 55-meter hurdle event. Durant won with a time of 8.5; teammate Ify Ojukwa finished second with a time of 8.6.

Hand off: As Guilderland's Gabby Cusato completes the 800-meter portion of the distance medley relay, she extends her arm to give the baton to teammate Hannah Gallagher to start the last leg, 1,600 meters. The relay team finished second with a time of 14:08.7. The boys’ relay team came in second, too, with a time of 12:14.0.

Lift off: Jordon Kimbrough prepares to fly in the triple-jump event. Kimbrough won with a distance of 39 feet, 7.50 inches; he also came in second in the long jump with a distance of 18 feet, 1.50 inches.

Graceful stride: Guilderland’s Ify Ojukwa easily clears a hurdle during the Tri-County Indoor Track League Meet 2 at Union College in Schenectady Saturday. Ojukwa finished in second place with a time of 8.6 seconds, just one-tenth of a second behind teammate Hannah Durant. Ojukwa also ran in the 300-meter dash and finished seventh with a time of 49.9.
