Graphic Novel

Book Club

Join us at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, to discuss George Takei’s graphic novel memoir, “They Called Us Enemy,” via GoToMeeting.  Participants may join through the video conference or by phone. Please register to get an invitation.

This discussion is considered for adults. This book can be read digitally on Hoopla, Libby, and Overdrive. Copies will be available to check out at the library. Please call to reserve: 518-765-2791.

Holiday hours

In observance of Labor Day, the library will be closed Saturday, Sept. 5 through Monday, Sept. 7. Regular phase 4 hours/services will resume on Tuesday, Sept. 8. 

Fiction Book

Discussion

The book choice this month is “Beach Read” by Emily Henry. Two polar opposite authors, one summer spent collaborating, and voila, summer magic. Join the discussion at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 9. Register online to receive the GoToMeeting link.

Miss Lisa’s Library Tots

Miss Lisa will hold a fun and interactive Zoom live session of Library Tots from 10 to 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, Sept. 10. Enjoy some special time of book reading, songs, rhymes, lap bounces and action rhymes.  For ages 0 to 24 months with parent/caregiver.

Fun Time Library Tots Activity Bags will be available for those who register for the class. Items included, such as a board book for choral reading and interactive props, will be used during the class. Please register to receive the Zoom link and to pick up the Fun Time Library Tots Activity Bag (your child's name will be on it) before the session.  

Seed Library

While the Library is not accepting seed donations this fall, it is still possible for patrons to request seeds from the library. To request seeds, go to www.voorheesvillelibrary.org. Choose the drop-down Borrow box, choose seed library, and fill out the request form. 

In-house browsing

A limited number of appointments are available Monday-Friday to browse for and check out materials or computer use. Appointments must be made in advance by phone. Please call Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 518-765-2791 to schedule your appointment. Each appointment slot is for one person only. Each appointment is for a maximum of 30 minutes.

Any person entering the building is expected to: wear a mask; follow 6-feet physical distancing; follow directional arrows on the floor. Restrooms remain closed to the public. All curbside services will remain during this time. Only the outdoor book-drop may be used to return books - please do not bring returns into the building. All items on the shelves have been quarantined for a minimum of 96 hours.
