Voorheesville Library Notes for Wednesday, August 17, 2022

Members of the RoundTable Art Group are exhibiting their work at the Voorheesville Public Library this month. The artists work in a variety of mediums such as acrylic, watercolor, collage, pastel, and photography.

The group numbers about 15 artists and member experience ranges from years to decades. Some members are formally trained while others are self-taught.

The group’s mission is to celebrate diversity and connection in the making of art, to share their art with the Capital District, and to welcome new members into the group. Please be sure to stop by the library for this month’s exhibit.

Voorheesville

History Walk

Join local history guide Dennis Ulion at 9:30 a.m, Saturday, Aug. 20, as we stroll down memory lane, or in this case, Voorheesville Ave. This 2 hour walk will cover more than 2 miles, so be sure to wear comfortable shoes. Please register online, and this program is subject to rain cancellation.

The Great

Give Back

Every year, the library does a community wide donation drive, and we are never disappointed in our community. This year, we will be supporting “Sleep in Heavenly Peace,” a volunteer organization that builds beds for kids (ages 3 to 17) who are sleeping on the floor.

From Sept. 15 through Oct. 15, the library will be collecting new (in original packaging) twin sheet sets, comforters, and pillows. Children or teen themes are appropriate, as are solid colors. In addition, we’ll also be collecting funds to build beds. For more ways to be involved, visit www.shpbeds.org. Thank you in advance, for your generosity.
