From July 1 through Aug. 26, patrons of all ages can play Summer Reading Bingo. Pick up a new game card at the library, or print one out from the website, every two weeks.

Complete two lines in any direction to win a bookmark, pin, or magnet. Complete the entire card to pick a prize from the prize box. No registration is needed. 

Village historian

leads walking tour

Join Voorheesville Village Historian, Dennis Sullivan, at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 18, and see our village streets as never before. This walking tour will begin at the Elementary School, and conclude with refreshments at the Rail Trail pavilion on Grove St. Individual registration is required. 

Teen Time

Teens are welcome to come use the library's maker equipment and supplies. Learn about 3D printing, use the sewing machines or littleBits electronic components, create with sticker circuits or STEAM kits. Craft and art supplies are available too -- just bring along your creativity! There is definitely something for everyone. Please register to join in the fun at 2 p.m., Monday, June 27.

Graphic Novel

Book Discussion

Register to join our new Graphic Novel Book Discussion. We will be meeting quarterly, with the first meeting July 13, at 7 p.m. The first graphic novel we'll be discussing is “The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Adults are invited to join in a discussion and offer opinions, ideas, and comments on this graphic novel.

This program is funded by the Friends of the Library. A limited number of copies will be available in print for $5. There will also be library copies available as well as digital formats.

Bubble Trouble

Come one, come all, at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 29 to the First United Methodist Church, 68 Maple Ave. Let's kick off the Summer Reading Program with zany, world-famous, Guinness Book of World Records-holding, master bubble wrangler, Jeff Boyer.

Mixing comedy, music, and interactive bubble magic, Jeff engages and delights audiences of all ages with a sensory-friendly bubble extravaganza for the whole family. For children of all ages and families. No registration required. This program is made possible through the generosity of the Stewart's Holiday Match Grant.  

Manga Madness

Manga readers are invited to pick up a copy of “Behind the Scenes” by Bisco Hatori, then join the Art Squad for a fun evening of manga activities on Thursday, June 30, at 6:30 p.m. Play an improv game, learn some movie make-up tips and enjoy some Japanese food. Cosplay encouraged, since the Art Squad works with all of the film clubs on campus! Grades 8-12, please register.

June displays

Please be sure to stop in at the library to enjoy our June displays. In the hall gallery, we have some stunning abstract paintings by artist Kristine Kelly. In the display case this month, we have an outstanding seashell collection, shared by Judith Mysliborski and Paula Maniscalco.
