Join Emma Treadwell Thacher Nature Center guides on Tuesday, June 14, at 9 a.m., for this one-hour beginner’s lesson on birding. This tour is suitable for adults, including seniors but is subject to cancellation due to weather.

Meet at the Emma Treadwell Thacher Nature Center, located at 87 Nature Center Way. Please register. 

Voorheesville walking tour

Join Voorheesville Village Historian Dennis Sullivan, at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 18, and see our village streets as never before. This walking tour will begin at the Elementary School, and conclude with refreshments at the Rail Trail pavilion on Grove St. Individual registration is required.

A Community Conversation

Please join us, via Zoom, for a free community conversation with Dr. Alice Green, Executive Director , the Center for Law and Justice, and Paul Grondahl, Director, NYS Writers Institute, at 7 p.m., Monday, June 20. We will be discussing historic and continuing challenges in our community, and share the work she is currently doing and how community members can help. This program is presented in collaboration with the Center for Law and Justice and the New York State Writers Institute and is provided by the Upper Hudson Library System.

Bead Creative

If you are interested in learning beading techniques, this is where you should start. Teens and adults are invited to register for this 2 p.m. event on Wednesday, June 22. You can start with an easy project, get help from experts, and use our supplies and tools. Your only investment is your time. 

Bricks, Bits, Bees, and Bots

Students in grades K thru 5 are invited to register for this creativity program, scheduled for 10 a.m., Monday, June 27. You will use the library Lego bricks for building, littleBits and Strawbees for inventing, and Ozobots to learn easy coding. 

Teen Time

Teens are welcome to come use the library's maker equipment and supplies. Learn about 3D printing, use the sewing machines or littleBits electronic components, create with sticker circuits or STEAM kits. Craft and art supplies are available too -- just bring along your creativity! There is definitely something for everyone. Please register to join in the fun at 2 p.m., Monday, June 27.

Bubble Trouble!

Come one, come all, at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 29 to the First United Methodist Church, 68 Maple Ave. Let's kick off the Summer Reading Program with zany, world-famous, Guinness Book of World Records-holding, master bubble wrangler, Jeff Boyer!

Mixing comedy, music, and interactive bubble magic, Jeff engages and delights audiences of all ages with a sensory-friendly bubble extravaganza for the whole family. For children of all ages and families. No registration required. This program is made possible through the generosity of the Stewart's Holiday Match Grant.

The library will be closed Sunday, June 19 in observance of Juneteenth.
