Nimblefingers
Every year, during February, the Nimblefingers really outdo themselves decorating our gallery, community room and exhibit case with a vast array of handcrafted treasures. If you like crafts of any kind, please stop in and wander through the library. You won’t be sorry you did. Once you finish oohing and aahing, vote for your favorite design in the Nimblefingers Table Runner challenge.
Maple sugaring
Author and professional educator, Anita Sanchez will share her love and knowledge of nature on Tuesday, Feb. 18, at 10:30 a.m. Children from kindergarten through grade five will learn how trees work and why sugar is so important. There will be real maple syrup for tasting.
Meet the author
On Wednesday, Feb. 19, at 10:30 a.m., children in grades two through six are invited to meet author and illustrator Coleen Balch and her dog Hannah. Coleen will share the story that inspired her book Hannah’s Happy Dog Tales – Rescued. Books will be available at a special rate and the author will be on hand for book signing.
Read-In
On Friday, Feb. 21, from 10 a.m. through 6:00 p.m., join our 8-hour Winter Reading Club Read-In held in the library community room. You can win special prizes, such as Amazon, iTunes and local bookstore certificates. Prizes will be awarded at various times throughout the event. Free pizza will be served at lunch, along with snacks and beverages throughout the day.
Family’s papers
The library archivist, Jim Corsaro, will be presenting the program Caring for your Family Papers on Saturday, Feb. 22, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Learn how to care for your family paper treasures, from grandma’s recipes to old photographs. Bring one item for preservation advice. Please call 765-2791 to register.
Chocolate making
On Feb. 20, at 6:30 p.m., we’ll be mixing up and tasting some delicious chocolate truffles. Space will be limited, so register early for this tasty program that is for kids in grade six and up.

Don’t forget, the library is hosting an online Winter Reading Club, now through March 31. Join the club by leaving a review on the library Winter Reading Club web page or drop off a handwritten review at the library, and you’ll be entered to win a prize. Three drawings will be held each month, so be sure you’re entered. Attending a Winter Reading Club event will also make you eligible for special prizes. All prizes have been donated by the Friends of the Library.
Library closing
The library will be closing at 5 p.m., on Monday, Feb. 17, in observance of President’s Day.
