Bring the Library

to Your Child

2021 is the 10th anniversary of Take Your Child to the Library Day and we will be doing it a little bit differently this year! Join Miss Lisa and Mrs. Brown live on Zoom, Saturday, Feb. 13, from 10:30 to 11am, to celebrate all that’s great about the library through shared stories, songs, activities, and interactive props.

You may pick up your fun activity bag during curbside hours, starting February 8. This bag will include craft supplies, paper hearts for a special project, fun props, and surprise activities and prizes. For ages 3 to 8 and families.  Please register online for your Zoom link and to request your bag.

Creativity Lab

Pick up your ping pong ball launcher kit, beginning Friday, Feb. 12, between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m. You can build your own launcher to send ping pong balls flying, marking the trajectory and distance of your shots and targets.

Redesign your launcher with greater accuracy and precision through the optional labs and graphing sheets, then compete in exciting design challenges. Change one variable at a time, utilizing scientific and engineering methods to successfully hit targets.

Use recycling bin materials or extra components to build a kicker, plunger, trebuchet, or slingshot — your imagination is the limit! Attend the optional online meetup on Friday, Feb. 19, at 11 a.m. to show off your launcher and shot accuracy. For grades 6 and up, please register.

Virtual Game Day

Students in grades 6 and up are invited to join us from 2 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 16 to enjoy gaming together, from the comfort of your own home. Tackle Minute to Win it challenges, play a few rounds of Bring Your Own Book, and solve puzzles in a virtual break-out room. Grades 6 and up, please register online to receive your link.

In-house browsing

A limited number of appointments are available Monday-Saturday to browse for and check out materials. Please call 518-765-2791 Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to schedule your appointment.
