Voorheesville Library Notes for Wednesday, January 19, 2022

Kids’ book

discussion

Children in second and third grades are invited to join us for a fun-filled evening at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 21, to discuss “Cam Jansen: The Snowy Day Mystery” by David Adler. This mystery seems impossible to solve, but with Cam Jansen on the case, the thieves don’t stand a chance! Please register and pick up a free book, courtesy of the Friends of the Library.

Grab & Go

for adults

If you can’t make it to the Craft & Chat program, don’t worry, we have you covered. Register online to pick up a craft kit that you can do at home. These are easy projects that only require some creativity to bring them to life. Pick up the kit after 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 24.

Winter bingo

From  Jan. 1 through 31, you can play library bingo to win some fabulous prizes. Receive a bookmark, pin, or magnet for the first two rows completed. Complete the entire card to pick a prize from the prize box. You can pick up a bingo card at the library, or print one from our website.

Story times

Children ages 2 to 5, with a caregiver, will enjoy an interactive, theme-based storytime at 10 a.m. Tuesday mornings at the library. All story times have an emphasis on early literacy that will include an art activity to be completed at the library or at home.

Some of the themes for February are Happy Hats, Polar Bears and Penguins, and Friendship Fun. Registration is limited. Check our online calendar for specific dates, or call the library for more information.

If the Voorheesville school district delays school by two hours, or closes for the day due to inclement weather, morning programs will be canceled. For all other programming, please call ahead to confirm the library will be open.

Fiction book

discussion

You are invited to join this virtual book discussion at 7 p.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 2. We’ll be discussing “The Color Purple” by Alice Walker. This program is funded by the Friends of the Library.

A limited number of copies will be available in print for $5. There will also be library copies available as well as digital formats. Please register online to receive the link.

Teen Maker Space

Students in sixth grade and older are encouraged to come to the library after school at 3 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11. You are welcome to use the sewing machine, craft supplies, or littleBits, and other STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) equipment.

Even if you just want to unwind, there is no better place than the library. Please register.
