January Preschool

Story Time

Children ages 2 to 5, with a caregiver, will enjoy an interactive, theme-based storytime at 10 a.m. Tuesday mornings at the library. All story times have an emphasis on early literacy that will include an art activity that can be completed at the library or at home.

Some of the themes for January are Winter Wonders, Birthdays! and Silly Socks. Registration is limited. Check our online calendar for specific dates, or call the library for more information.

Bead Creative

Teens and adults are invited to a beading workshop at 6 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 11. Experience is not needed for this project. You will learn some easy beading techniques that may start you on to a new hobby. If you are already experienced, join us to create something beautiful using our large selection of beads.

Grab-and-go for adults

If you can’t make it to the Craft & Chat program, don’t worry, we have you covered. Register online to pick up a craft kit that you can do at home. These are easy projects that only require some creativity to bring them to life. Pick up the kit after 10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 24.

Teens Care

The teens care group will take part in the 2022 Students Rebuild: World Needs Challenge at 1 p.m., Jan. 28. Students will become “artivists,” using color, images, and words, to design posters to amplify the messages they care about.

For each piece of artwork shared with Students Rebuild, the Bezos Family Foundation will make a $5 donation to support projects that carry a global impact. Come to the library or join us on Zoom to learn about the five world needs in the challenge and find your focus issue.

Free museum passes

Looking for something fun and different that you can take the whole family for a reasonable cost? Look no further than your local library. We have many free passes to area galleries and museums: Norman Rockwell, The Clark Art Institute, Mass Moca, The Arkell Museum, The Hyde Collection to name just a few. Stop by and see what’s available at your local library.

Inclement weather

If the Voorheesville school district delays school by two hours, or closes for the day due to inclement weather, story time will be canceled. For all other programming, please call ahead to confirm the library will be open.

Holiday hours

The library will close at 5 p.m., Jan. 17, in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Curbside pickup is available during all open library hours.

Masks are required of all visitors over the age of two, regardless of vaccination status.
