Schoharie Library Notes for Tuesday, September 20, 2022

The Schoharie Library is open on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.; on Thursday from noon to 7 p.m.; and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

We’re are currently offering these programs:

— Story time with Miss Yvonne: Fridays at 10 a.m. Stories, songs, fun activities! Aug. 12 theme: Pirates;

— Writing Club (Virtual): Mondays at 6:30 p.m. https://bit.ly/SchoharieLibraryPrograms;

— Middle Grade book group: Monday, Sept. 26, at 4 p.m. Youth in third through sixth grades are welcome to join Yvonne and volunteer Joann to read a chapter book each month. We will cover the different genres, reading a book together and discussing it. We will meet every two weeks. Virtual Tech Savvy: How to Host a Zoom Meeting: Monday, Sept. 26, 6:30 p.m. Signup: https://bit.ly/hostzoom9-2. This project is supported by funds from the New York State Library’s Adult Literacy Library Services Program;

— Knitcetera at the Library: Tuesday, Sept. 27, 10:30 a.m. to noon. Sew, knit, anything goes;

— Community Forum at the Schoharie Library : Join us on Wednesday Sept. 28, 7 to 8 p.m. at the library in the Eaton Meeting room, refreshments served.  Tell us about your community, dreams and aspirations for the community, and how the library can support the community. — Embellish your Clothes with Embroidery with Betty Fikes Pillsbury: Saturday, Oct. 1, 10 a.m. to 1p.m. at the Schoharie Library. Learn to create an embroidered motif to adorn a favorite Jean jacket or denim (or similar/woven) shirt. Registration required, sign up at: https://bit.ly/EmbellishClothes10-1-22. Preview embellished clothing at the Middleburgh Library on Tuesday, September 20, 7-8pm.

— Finding Money in Your Budget to Keep Up with Inflation: Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1 p.m. Inflation is nearing 10%, the worst in nearly 40 years. It is so hard to keep up! We will talk about ways to find money that you already have by creating a budget, so you don’t fall behind. Resources for additional income sources. We will also take a look at credit card interest and why your payments never seem to go down. Free worksheets and trackers to help you get in control of your finances. Presenter: Eileen Knott, Western Catskills Community Revitalization Council Inc; and

— CREATE Arts Grant Seminar: Wednesday, Oct. 5, 5:30 p.m. Are you an artist, or does your organization host programs in the arts? Find out how you can access funding from the New York State Council on the Arts Community Regrants in this informative program. Presented by Adriana Tampasis, Grants Manager for CREATE Council for the Arts.
