Schoharie Library Notes for Wednesday, June 23, 2021

Beginning June 22, the Schoharie Free Library will be open with limited services. There will be manual check-out of books, use of computers, and copying available. Please call the library 518-295-7127 or check the Schoharie Library Facebook page for the hours.

The Mohawk Valley Library System will train our staff on the electronic check-out system and interlibrary loans the week of July 12. Once that training is complete, those services will begin again. Thank you for your patience as we navigate this transition.

Upcoming programs

These in-person programs are being offered at the Schoharie Library at 103 Knower Ave.:

— Life Drawing Classes: Thursdays, June 24, July 1, 8 and 15, from 6 to 8 p.m. on the library lawn. Learn how to draw the human figure with a live (lightly clothed) model! Ages 10 to adult, all abilities welcome. Registration appreciated as class size is limited.

Cuomo and the New York State Legislature and administered in Schoharie County by the Greene County Council on the Arts dba CREATE Council for Resources to Enrich the Arts, Technology & Education;

— Discovery Tuesdays: July 6 - August 10, weekly at 10am on the library porch/lawn. 7/6: Animal Tales with live animals; and

— Knitcetera: Tuesday, July 13, 10:30 a.m. Quilt, knit, embroider - bring a project to the library and chat;

— Computer Gaming — Keeping Kids Safe: Wednesday, June 23, 6:30 p.m. We will discuss parental controls, privacy settings, and ways to tell your kids to look out for online predators. We will also discuss how to mitigate Cyberbullying and prevention techniques. Facilitators: Aneesa Hussain and Ajran Hussain; and

— Writing Club: Monday, June 28 at 6:30 p.m.
