All are welcome to drop in with their own crafting materials every Tuesday from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the Guilderland Public Library. In addition, the Capital District Knitting Guild will meet at GPL every second Monday evening of the month, starting Jan. 9, from 6 to 8 p.m. Knitters of all skill levels, from brand-new beginner to advanced, are encouraged to acquire or sharpen skills with new teaching topics featured each month.

January means it’s time for Beanstack’s Annual Winter Reading Challenge! This year, the theme is “All The Feels,” encouraging readers of all ages to experience how reading stirs our emotions.

Sign up and log all your reading on our Beanstack webpage (https://guilderlandlibrary.beanstack.com/reader365) or with the Beanstack App between Jan. 1 and 31. Our goal is to read 90,000 minutes (1,500 hours) by the end of January.

Remember, anything you read counts (including newspapers, magazines, graphic novels, comic books, picture books, and audio books) so make sure to log it all! If we’re one of the top-reading libraries in the country, we’ll win a prize for all to enjoy. Happy reading!

Story time returns

Storytimes resume Tuesday, Jan. 3! Tuesdays are for toddlers (ages 18-36 months); Wednesdays are for families (ages birth-5); and Thursdays are for preschoolers (3-5 years). All storytimes begin at 10:30 a.m. No registration is required. Caregivers must remain with child(ren). Please choose only one storytime per week.
