Guilderland EMS runs efficient pop-up site

To the Editor:

I would just like to take this time to give a big thanks to Guilderland’s Emergency Medical Services staff, police department and other volunteers who put together a wonderfully safe and efficient pop-up site for the administration of the COVID-19 vaccination.

It took place at the rescue squad headquarters on Centre Drive in Westmere on Monday, March 8.

It was so well organized and efficiently run. You just drove in and never even had to leave your car!

I also was most impressed to see our town supervisor, Peter Barber, and Deputy Chief Curtis Cox outside, assisting in the cold weather. I’m sure there were other town employees there but were hard to identify with their masks on.

I have to return in three weeks to get my second shot but at least now my mind is at ease knowing that this site handles the process so professionally. I urge all who still need the vaccine to check with The Altamont Enterprise or other sources to see if our town posts any new pop-up vaccination sites.

I highly recommend this!
