Tarzan meets Jane: Disney’s musical “Tarzan” will be streamed daily until Sunday, Feb. 21, to encourage families to choose it for an enjoyable family vacation week event.

To the Editor:
Sadly, “Legally Blonde,” the spring 2020 Voorheesville high school production, never made it to the stage. As a result, the drama club lost thousands of dollars already spent on costumes, wigs, scenery, and props.

This year, the club, the Voorheesville Dionysians, was faced with many difficult choices as a result. In order to continue this award-winning program, money from the remaining balance was put away for next year, thereby leaving the club with very limited funds and the challenge of COVID-19.

The club recently announced an advertising and sponsorship campaign, a coffee and summer flower bulb fundraiser, and a limited streaming of its 2018 recording of Disney’s “Tarzan” the musical.

“Tarzan” will be streamed daily until Sunday, Feb. 21, to encourage families to choose it for an enjoyable family vacation week event. It features a rock score by Phil Collins and originally delighted audiences with its creative staging, costumes, choreography, and jungle set.

The production was nominated for many 2018 Proctor’s High School Musical Theatre Awards and resulted in the Best Ensemble Award and Best Featured Actress Award for then-senior Fallon Zell in the role of Turk. To purchase Tarzan tickets visit https://www.showtix4u.com/event-details/46265.

To add to the excitement, the Dionysians also recently announced that they will offer an all-virtual production of the Tony Award-winning “The Drowsy Chaperone” that will begin streaming March 26.  Anyone interested in making a donation, becoming a sponsor or advertising in the show program, should contact the club's advisor at

More information about these events can be found on the club’s Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok accounts @villedionysians or Voorheesville Dionysians.
