The Guilderland girls’ wrestling team, a new team in Section 2, competed in the second annual Coxsackie-Athens girls wrestling tournament at Coxsackie-Athens High School where all 20 teams were composed of just female wrestlers.

On Wednesday, June 1, as the Guilderland boys’ lacrosse team looked to win back-to-back Class A sectional titles, they had to go against top-seeded Shenendehowa. Guilderland started off slow, endured a passing downpour, rallied, and fell short with a 15-to-9 loss.

This past weekend, starting on Jan.27 thru Jan.30, Guilderland, Voorheesville, and Berne-Knox-Westerlo indoor track teams took to the track in an attempt to bring home Section 2 titles.

The Guilderland-Voorheesville girls’ swim team battled for a sectional title last Thursday through Saturday in hopes of qualifying for the state competition on Nov. 17 and 18 at Ithaca College. Guilderville is sending three relay teams along with numerous solo swimmers.

The Bulldogs of Berne-Knox-Westerlo and the Dutchmen of Guilderland smile, tumble, and fly high during the Section 2 winter cheer championships last Saturday at Colonie High School in efforts to head to Syracuse for the state competition.

Voorheesville's Emily Bablin was named Colonial Council Most Valuable Player.

Guilderland Varsity Cheerleaders were back in top form on Feb. 20 at the Section 2 championships at Guilderland High School.

Track-and-field events sometimes come down to physics and psyche, pushing by increments.

The high sun and heavy humidity didn't stop Guilderland athletes from placing near the top during state championships for outdoor track and field.

Getting to States was just a fingertip away last week in the Section 2 state qualifiers, held at the University at Albany.
