Guilderland School board

On Tuesday, June 13, Guilderland Athletic Director David Austin spoke to the school board about the student athletes accomplishments from this years seasons in the fall, winter, and spring.

Guilderland School Board members said they would create new policies after to transgender students said school should be a safe place.

Catherine Barber, who is seeking a fourth term on the school board, would like to see some of the tasks underway to completion. “So much is going on in education right now,” she said. “There’s a lot of news.”

Timothy Burke, who has regularly attended school board meetings since 2003 and served for five years on the district’s now-defunct Citizens’ Budget Advisory Committee, is making his first run for the board because he believes there is a lack of leadership.

The three women up for re-election on Guilderland's school board are citing personal rather than political reasons as each decides whether or not to seek another term.
