Each year, in what looks like it could be a session from the United Nations, students who have come to school at Guilderland from many foreign lands, gather together with their families for a shared meal.
New York's educational system is ostensibly one of home rule; forcing all schools into the same mold is not the best way to help students. Programs should be tailored by each district to fit its needs.
