GUILDERLAND — At 5 Wits, a new business that opened recently at Crossgates Mall, visitors act as action heroes in one of three immersive, hands-on adventures, with the visitors controlling how the story ends.

GUILDERLAND — Anthony Gucciardo of Gucciardo Real Estate opened a satellite office in Guilderland on Nov. 1.

Located at 1809 Western Ave., the office will be run by Gucciardo, who is owner and broker, and Kellie Kieley, associate broker.

ALTAMONT — Ellen Schreibstein, who manages the front desk for The Enterprise, told her husband about a visitor who came to the news office asking where in the village postcards of Altamont could be purchased.

The answer: Nowhere.

An aesthetician who makes her own organic products is now offering pumpkin masks at Salon 146.

David L. Herman, M.D., a primary care physician who specializes in treating HIV, AIDS, and hepatitis C, has joined Albany Medical Center’s Department of Internal Medicine and been appointed assistant professor of medicine at Albany Medical College.

BETHLEHEM — The Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce is looking for businesses to participate in its Holiday Shopping Card program.

Three new local businesses — a sandwich shop, a dog groomer, and a men’s grooming salon — have opened in Guilderland. They are all located in Hometown Dental Plaza, formerly known as Park Place Plaza, near Carman Road.

A 25,000-square-foot children’s play emporium has opened on the third floor of Crossgates Mall.
