Lasagna dinner to raise funds for library generator

To the Editor:

The Friends of the Berne Library will be having a Lasagna Dinner and Cakewalk on Saturday, Nov. 15, at the Berne Senior Center, 1360 Helderberg Trail, Berne.  Several varieties of homemade lasagna will be available:  meat, vegetarian, and gluten-free.  Salad, bread, beverages, and make-your-own sundaes will round out the meal.

The Friends will begin serving at 5:30 p.m.  Tickets are $10 prepaid and $12 at the door.  Tickets may be purchased at the Berne Library, or call 872-1246 for more information.

Drawing tickets may be purchased to win a delicious cake made from scratch.

All proceeds will be used to match grant funds to purchase a standby generator that will supply electricity during power outages so community members can come in to the library to use computers, charge cellphones, and fill water jugs.  The library will also be able to serve as a warming or cooling station during power outages.

Hope to see you Nov. 15. Bon appétit!
