The Berne Highway Department has corrected the seven safety violations uncovered by the New York State Department of Labor in the wake of a fatal workplace accident at the town highway garage last year, newly obtained investigation documents show.

Ray Carucci, the owner of Westerlo antiques store Chipped, Tarnished, and Torn, said that Instagram helped him stay in business during the COVID-19 shutdown, cementing, for Carucci, the idea that even a business that deals in antiquities needs to adapt to the modern world.

RENSSELAERVILLE — Roswell Eldridge, M.D., was a Renaissance man who left deep impressions both in and beyond the Hilltowns. His knowledge drew from the fields of art, medicine, nature, automobiles, and more. Dr. Eldridge died peacefully at his home on Thursday, June 3, 2021, five days before his 53rd wedding anniversary.
