Nancy Ann Lendrum

BERNE — Nancy Ann Lendrum, an architect who helped with local building projects, died on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020, at Albany Medical Center Hospital. She was 66.

Guilderland and Knox were exempt from a fiscal stress review performed by the office of the state comptroller because neither town filed its annual update documents on time.

It is tough to know where to begin. The few Old Men of the Mountain this scribe has spoken to are just like the scribe. None of them have really gone anywhere.

KNOX —  J. David Lee of Knox — whom his family described as “a solitary, kind, quiet man” —  died on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2020. He was 81.

He was born in Auburn, New York to the late H. Patricia and Stanley Lee. The family later moved to the Schenectady area, eventually settling in Duanesburg.

A handful of Rensselaerville residents requested that the town board condemn display of the Confederate battle flag, a popular conservative symbol intertwined with racism, but the resolution that will be introduced next month seems unlikely to go through. 

Berne Republican Party Chairman and Highway Superintendent Randy Bashwinger has been elected chairman of the Albany County GOP following his success in establishing Republican-backed candidates in elected Hilltown positions. Westerlo’s GOP chairwoman, Lisa DeGroff, was elected to serve as the county GOP’s secretary.
