Lighting the darkness: People flocked to the Knox town park on Saturday evening as 40 trees were lit while the Knox Town Band played Christmas tunes. Organizer Maryellen Gillis called it the Hope and Peace Community Festival of Trees, and said, “Individuals, families, businesses, groups, and organizations decorated trees in memory of loved ones; to raise awareness for a cause; or simply in the spirit of peace, hope and support.”
