Photos: Dutch Sweep Division Titles In V-V-S Invitational

The Guilderland cross-country team competed against some of the best schools in New York at the Vernon-Verona-Sherrill Invitational on Sept. 16. Both the boys’ and girls’ teams won the title in their division, and Guilderland’s junior varsity swept as well. Overall they finished fourth and fifth.

Working together: Guilderland’s Aakash Iyer (440) and Will Smitas (454) both start their decline on the opening hill of the race. Iyer finished in 3rd and 9th overall with a time of 16:41.7 and Smitas finished 2nd and 8th overall with a time of 16:41.3.
