On Sunday, Aug. 6, the Fox Creek 5k returned to the streets in Berne where 38 runners competed.

Escorted: Albany’s Manuel Fernandez Hernandez, 22, approaches the finish line as an Albany County Sheriff's car led him to the last stretch. Hernandez won with a time of 16:54.

Shading the sun away: Schoharie’s Ericka Stark wears her shades as the sun beams down on her as she approaches the finish line. Stark was the first female and fourth overall with a time of 24:31.

Coming in fast: Delanson’s Anna Lowry, 14, cringes as she approaches the finish line as Berne’s Keegan Bates, 13, tries to pass her right at that line. Lowry finished 11th with the time of 28:05 and Bates finished 12th with a time of 28:07.

Come on, Dad! Burnt Hill’s Stephen Obermayer comes off the raised sidewalk as his wife and pup help him get to the finish line. Obermayer finished 16th with a time of 32:49.

Finishing strong: Pattersonville’s Alex Snyder races BKW’s cross-country coach Chris Miedema toward the finish line. Snyder finished 17th with a time of 33:18.
