Photos: Dutch Come Up Short At The Plate Against The Brothers

The Guilderland Dutchmen baseball team travelled to Christian Brothers Academy on Saturday, June 5th, for a Suburban Council matchup in the season finale in preparation for sectionals this week. The Dutch made a seventh inning rally but fell short, 4-to-2, and is the eighth seed in this year's Class AA sectional.

Heading home: Guilderland’s Ty Santabarbara releases his pitch towards the Christian Brothers Academy batter in the fifth inning. Santabarbara pitched six innings giving up four runs but only two were earned on one hit, striking out 10 and walking four.

Looking for a hit: Guilderland’s Liam Teague gets the barrel of his bat on the CBA pitch but it went foul. Teague was hitless in three at-bats.

Getting his man: Guilderland’s Dan Keaney scoops up the ground ball and gets ready to throw towards first to get the out. At the plate, Keaney had one hit in two at-bats and scored a run.

I got this: Guilderland’s Nick Mahar grabs the ball in front of his teammate Dan Keaney in the sixth inning and makes a throw to first.
