Photos: Birds send 7 To State Qualifiers

On Tuesday, May 23, the Voorheesville track team competed in the Section, Group 4 sectionals at Stillwater High School. The team is sending three relays and four individuals to the State Qualifiers at Shenendehowa on June 1 and 2. The boys finished third with 61 points while the girls finished fifth with 58 points.

Wide eyed: Voorheesville’s Haley Murphy easily soars over the hurdle in the 100-meter event in the pentathlon. Murphy finished in second with 1902 points and qualified for the state qualifiers.

Battled hard: Voorheesville’s Caitlin McCarthy hands the baton off to teammate Lily Farrell in the 4-by-800-meter relay. Voorheesville won the event with a time of 10:40.58 and qualified for the state qualifiers.
