‘Run 4 the Hill’ 5K honors Kenneth White

ALBANY COUNTY — The “Run 4 the Hill” 5K, scheduled for Nov. 7 at 10 a.m. in Voorheesville, will be held this year in memory of Kenneth White.

Kenneth, a Berne-Knox-Westerlo kindergartner, was murdered in his Knox home last December.

All funds from the program will go to the Albany County Sheriff’s Hilltown Christmas program, which helps needy Helderberg families with gifts.

“Kenneth’s family was part of that celebration and we need to show that his death was not in vain,” said a notice announcing the run. Last year, the 26-year-old program helped 200 families with food, toys, and clothing.

Registration and parking will be at the Cornell Cooperative Extension building on Martin Road. Drop boxes will be available for those wishing to donate new, unwrapped gifts.

Runners may register online at finishright.com by Nov. 5, or by mail by Nov. 4. The registration fee is $25 with all proceeds going to the Hilltown Christmas program.

Those who cannot attend but who would like to make a donation should make checks payable to ACSO Hilltown Christmas, and mail them to 58 Verda Ave., Post Office Box A, Clarksville, NY 12041.
