The Town of New Scotland will be holding a meeting on April 24 at 7 PM at the Town of New Scotland  Town Hall at 2029 New Scotland Road in Slingerlands to present the newly drafted Natural Resources  Inventory. All are invited.
New Scotland received an Environmental Protection Fund Grant to conduct a Natural Resources  Inventory for the Town. With assistance from a local, volunteer advisory committee, the Town  and its consultants have collected data and information to develop comprehensive maps and a  detailed report that provides detailed summaries of the environmental and cultural resources in  Town. As part of the project, an online application showing all maps have also been developed.
The NRI can be used by the various boards in New Scotland, landowners, and the general public  to learn more about the physical, ecological, and cultural resources in Town. The NRI and its  online application will be a reference document, and it can be used as a tool during planning  board environmental reviews and by landowners who wish to manage their land to protect  natural resources. The project includes 27 maps ranging from geologic features to plant and  wildlife habitats and climate resiliency maps, a comprehensive written narrative about each  resource, and the online application that will allow users to identify and learn about  environmental features at any location or tax parcel in the Town, including in the Village of  Voorheesville.
