GUILDERLAND — Carole Richmond Hubbard, who was active in church ministries and devoted to her family, died peacefully on Saturday, March 23, 2024, surrounded by family and friends. She was 80.

She was born in Albany on June 11, 1943 to the late William Sr. and Mary Parsons Richmond.

“After graduating from Albany High School, Carole married Harold Hubbard Jr. in 1962,” her family wrote in a tribute, “and raised her family before beginning work at the Town of Guilderland Highway Department.

“While working, she attended Schenectady County Community College, where she earned an associate’s degree as a paralegal. She retired as an administrative assistant from the town in 2010.

“In later years, she was also in the finance service industry with Primerica, starting in 2001, and was still licensed.

“Carole was very active in her church ministries, first at Trinity Christian Church, where she was the Missions Director and was a Sunday school teacher. Then, when that church closed, she attended and was active in Faith and Love Fellowship. Carole was also a member of WoW ministries, Circle of Care and other Women’s Events and Ministries.

“Carole enjoyed knitting, and would make blankets for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed scrapbooking, writing poetry, and doing ancestry research.”

Carole Richmond Hubbard is survived by her children, Lisa Hubbard, Michele Hubbard, Harold “Buddy” Hubbard III (Lory), Peter Hubbard (Agata), Matthew Hubbard (Annie), and Patrick Hubbard (Jessica); 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, James Richmond (Donna); and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, William Sr. and Mary Parsons Richmond, died before her as did her husband, Harold, in 1998, and three of her siblings, William III, Virginia, and Susan Richmond.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday March 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the DeMarco Stone Funeral Home at 5216 Western Ave. in Guilderland. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 29, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
