Dorothy Ruth Pezze

GUILDERLAND — Dorothy Ruth Pezze — homemaker, bookkeeper, fashionista, and consummate prankster — died on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, at her home, after a long battle originating from complications of squamous cell carcinoma. She was 94.

Spencer Flansburg

EAST BERNE — Spencer Flansburg died at home on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023. He was 82 years old.

He was born in Albany to the late Henrietta Jones and James Flansburg.

He was a member of the laborers’ union and the electricians’ union.

Bernadene M. Bowers

VOORHEESVILLE — Bernadene M. Bowers, a kindergarten teacher honored by the state, died on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, at St. Peter’s Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 76.

August David Guilzon

WESTERLO — August David “Dave” Guilzon, a deeply Christian man who led by example, died on Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023, at his residence. He was 81 years old.

ALBANY — Scott M. Hickey was a handyman with a heart of gold.

Sydney A. Dunston

NEW SCOTLAND — Sydney A. Dunston died at home on Sunday, Dec. 3, 2023, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.

He was born Oct. 14, 1935 in Guilderland to William A. Dunston and Elsie A. Smith, the eldest of four brothers. A graduate of Voorheesville’s high school, he lived in the town of New Scotland for most of his life.

Claudia G. Anderson, beloved wife of Lewis Buckman, died after a brief illness on Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023. She was 88.

ELIOT, Maine — James “Jim” Ogsbury McClelland — husband, grandfather, brother, cousin, uncle, and enduring friend — died at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough, Maine on Thursday, Oct. 12, 2023, after a prolonged period of decline.

His life will be celebrated this Saturday De. 9.

GUILDERLAND — “With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Timothy Gray on Nov. 10, 2023,” his family wrote in a tribute. He was 37.

Born in Albany, New York, on May 19, 1986, he was the beloved son of Raedene “Rae” Gray of Guilderland and James Gray (Terri) of Saratoga.
