Help the Bethlehem Grange celebrate 150 years

To the Editor:
Holy cow! We’re 150 years old. The Bethlehem Grange 137 was established in 1874 and is one of the oldest Granges in the nation.

We are hosting an open house on April 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please join us for our birthday celebration.

Grangers and their families, friends of Grangers, and the curious are all invited! There will be displays, refreshments, and entertainment. We will have “Squeeze Play,m” an accordion band; line dancers; and “Stars 4 Our Troops.”

Our national assistant, Stewart Walter Hartley, and the Rhode Island state president and his family will be joining us for the day. Our Former New York state president, Stephen Coye, will also be joining us

The celebration will take place in our own Bethlehem Grange 137 building, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.  We’re located at 24 Bridge St. in Selkirk.

Please let us know that you are planning on coming, so that we have an approximate headcount, by calling me, Carol Carpenter, at 518-421-1384. Or you can text the same number.

Even those with last-minute plans to attend are welcome. We look forward to seeing everyone there!

Carol Carpenter
