On May 18, voters in the Voorheesville Central School District will be asked to approve a $26.95 million budget for the 2021-22 school year, an increase of approximately 3.58 percent over this year’s spending plan.

A parade was led by the Albany County Sheriff’s cars, and New Salem and Voorheesville fire trucks and ended at Hotaling Park where lawn signs pictured each senior.

In previous years, Indian Ladder Farms has shipped around 300 bushels, or 1,200 pounds, of apples to local schools. This year, the amount will increase seven or eight times over.

Kimberly Lovell and Nathan Elble are incumbents. Helen Lounsbury, Martin Szinger, and Randy Bashwinger are challengers. Candidates were asked about the school budget, the capital project, and other issues facing the district in the coming school year.

GUILDERLAND — Three incumbents and two challengers are running for three seats on Guilderland’s board of education.

The Guilderland school board may invest $45,000 to develop a strategic plan for how learning should take place in the future.
