BERNE — Move over, American Pharaoh. Local runners are now racing for their own triple crown.

Noah Tindale stays humble when talking about his victory and talent; he says he gets his motivation from his teammates and from his faith.

ALTAMONT — The second annual Hilltown Triple Crown race series came to a close last Saturday with the 17th annual Altamont 5K.

“The rain disappeared,” said Phil Carducci, the race director.

The Pre-Fall Classic 5K was held in Voorheesville last Saturday and Lukus Becker, of Berne, crossed the finish line first in a time of 18:47.

Olivia Baumann, 15, of Greenville, was the first female finisher in 10th place overall with a time of 20:45.

First leg of Hilltown Triple Crown was run last Saturday; two to go.

The Third Annual Sap Run 5K happened in Knox last weekend.

Color bombs of blue, green, pink, purple, and yellow cornstarch showered runners at the Altamont fairgrounds.

The inaugural Hilltown Triple Crown 5K Series has put a new spin on competitive running in the area. Runners can increase their point total from week to week.
