VOORHEESVILLE — Two of the area’s leading proponents of traditional dance, Old Songs Inc. with underwriting support from Homespun Occasions, host a new season of Old Songs Community Dances, starting Saturday evening, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m.

ALTAMONT — One of only three musicians invited from the United States to be part of the Maxence Larrieu Flute Competition, Amanda Dame, of Altamont, will be on of 62 candidates competing in this high-level international competition, taking place in Nice, France this month.

GUILDERLAND — Lost Radio Rounders, an acoustic American roots duo of Tom Lindsay and Michael Eck, will celebrate a new release with a free concert on Friday, Oct. 17, at the Hamilton Union Presbyterian Church.

The church is located at 2291 Western Ave. in Guilderland and the concert starts at 7 p.m. 

CLARKSVILLE — Join us on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Clarksville Community Church to meet Solomon Northrup, the central figure of the movie “12 Years A Slave.” 

VOORHEESVILLE — The Voorheesville American Legion Auxiliary is holding its sixth annual Community Tag Sale on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the American Legion Hall on Voorheesville Avenue.
