RENSSELAERVILLE — The Carey Institute’s Sustainable Communities Program has been granted $62,080 from the United States Department of Agriculture to offer technical assistance to breweries and other craft-beverage producers in rural communities across the state.

On Sunday in Rensselaerville, at least 70 bikers took to the hills on a leisurely bike ride through four different distances.

RENSSELAERVILLE — Artists from around the world will gather in August at The Carey Institute for Global Good in the Helderbergs for the Catskill High Peaks Music Festival.

With bright fall leaves as a backdrop to the Rensselaerville hamlet, local residents came out Sunday in colorful ways themselves, cheering on the cyclists who passed through on the town’s first Gran Fondo and cycling festival.

The Carey Institute for Global Good has matured into an important resource for regional brewers and farmers and will soon start residency programs in journalism and arts.

RENSSELAERVILLE — A hops workshop at the Carey Institute for Global Good on Jan. 18 will teach brewers, distillers, and farmers as part of the site’s fledgling hub for a local craft-beer industry.
