RENSSELAERVILLE — The Carey Institute’s Sustainable Communities Program has been granted $62,080 from the United States Department of Agriculture to offer technical assistance to breweries and other craft-beverage producers in rural communities across the state.

A courageous woman stood up in Guilderland Town Court on June 30.  She had been beaten by her live-in boyfriend, William Beer.

RENSSELAERVILLE — The Carey Institute for Global Good here wants to close the gap between agricultural supplies and demand from brewers in the midst of the state’s craft brew renaissance.

RENSSELAERVILLE — A hops workshop at the Carey Institute for Global Good on Jan. 18 will teach brewers, distillers, and farmers as part of the site’s fledgling hub for a local craft-beer industry.

The fourth annual Festival of Writers, Aug. 15 to 18, will bring together artists with international reputations and a love for the region.
