To the Editor:

If the Guilderland Board of education and the superintendent really care about education, they will not allow the closing of the Altamont Elementary School.

Small class sizes are an enhancement.

To the Editor:

I wonder if the people of Westerlo know that its town government is poised to allow hydrofracking here.

I wonder if the people in the city of Albany, who now drink some of the best water in the country from Westerlo resources, know it.

To the Editor:

It was such a sad story in last week’s Altamont Enterprise to read about the closing of Greulich’s Market after 60 years in business, due to a tax issue. 

Where is our governor now with all of his big tax-break incentives to do business in this state?  It is simply a joke!

The quilts of Knox have been displayed, scrutinized, exclaimed over, and admired, and are now safely returned to their owners. The quilt show Sunday, on Aug. 3, sponsored by the Knox Historical Society and the Helderberg Quilt Barn Trail, drew 125 visitors from nearby and out of state.
