Letters to the Editor

To the Editor:

We are writing to encourage parents and loved ones of children in the Berne-Knox-Westerlo School District, or any school district really, to consider volunteering with one of the many wonderful organizations that enhance the learning opportunities our children get at school and in the community.

To the Editor:

Stuttering is a frustrating and embarrassing problem for millions of people, but it can be especially tough on teenagers.  Help is available at most public libraries in the form of a DVD. Some libraries have an older video format.

To the Editor:

We viewed with some disappointment the cover photo in the Jan. 23 edition, as well as some photos on the sports pages, highlighting school-sponsored wrestling activity.  As evidenced in the pictures, none of the athletes were wearing a protective mouth guard.

To the Editor:

The Berne-Knox-Westerlo Little League will be holding its second annual fund-raiser party on Feb. 22 at the Maple Inn in East Berne from 8 a.m. to noon.

To the Editor:

I wonder if you still have the poem my father wrote about the men who drive the snowplows. Maybe you could put it in the next Enterprise.

I think about the drivers all the time and how dedicated and hardworking they are.
