Foundation has new gala venue, same dedicated commitment to community

To the Editor:

This spring, many people told me how they were looking forward to attending the annual Voorheesville Community and School Foundation Spring Gala. Some were a little disappointed to find out that they would have to wait until Sept. 12 to attend our major fundraiser. After many years of spring galas, the foundation board determined it was time to turn over a new leaf and try something new — An Evening at the Orchard.

Board members decided to lower the ticket price to $50 per person so that more community members could afford to attend.  We have moved to a new venue — the Orchard Creek Golf Club in Altamont — and will be featuring wine and beer sampling and a delicious assortment of light and hearty fare

An Evening at the Orchard will also feature live entertainment by the Chris Dukes Band as well as a fascinating selection of drawing and auction items. To make the evening even more special, guests who purchase a ticket before Aug. 1 will be entered into a drawing to win an eight-person limousine for the winner and their friends for the evening! Tickets may be purchased at: www.vcsfoundation.com.

What remains the same is the foundation’s reliance on the generous support we receive from the community and our commitment to providing community grants that enhance the cultural, educational, athletic, and organizational opportunities for community members and students. Individuals and businesses interested in making a donation may contact us at info@vcsfoundation.com.
