Learn a lifetime sport, crew

To the Editor:

It is time to start the fall Scotia-Guilderland-Schenectady rowing program for kids in seventh through 12th grades. SGS is a rowing club for boys and girls from Scotia, Guilderland, and Schenectady and other local schools — Mohonasen, Schalmont, and private and parochial schools, etc. All are welcome.

We offer a great rowing program for the modified and high school rowers.  The fall season starts on Monday, Aug. 25, from 3:30 to 6 p.m. on the Mohawk River from our docks located off Maxon Road in the industrial park. You can learn more about us online at www.sgsrowing.

This is a great sport for new and experienced rowers.  We are seeking rowers as well as coxswains.

SGS rows locally and competes in area regattas in October. The week of Aug. 25 is a free learn-to-row option.

If you are looking for a new opportunity for your child, this is a lifetime sport for both boys and girls. For more information, check out our website at www.sgsrowing or call me at 869-1980.
