Thanks for the party for Hilltown children

Ecstatic to see Santa: Smiles lit this girl’s face Sunday afternoon when she got to see Santa on stage to tell him what she wanted for Christmas during the Hilltown Christmas party at the Albany County Sheriff’s Office in Clarksville.

The good side of the Grinch: Last Sunday afternoon at the Albany County Sheriff’s Hilltown Christmas party, the Grinch, having learned his lesson from Whoville, gives three brothers gifts after they visited Santa in Clarksville.

Party prep: Inmates on a work detail from Albany County’s jail set up tables and a stage for Santa before the annual Hilltown Christmas party sponsored by the sheriff’s office.

Filling her sack: Shoppers could select two toys, one book, and one article of clothing for each child from among the large assortment that filled the gym at the former Clarksville school, now home to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office. The gift selection was just part of the fun Sunday at the Hilltown Christmas party sponsored by the sheriff’s office.

To the Editor:

I would like to thank the Albany County Sheriff’s Office and Sheriff Craig Apple for the Hilltown Christmas party for the Hilltown children.

Thank you to Kathaleen Taylor for all the help she gives all year long on setting it up. I would also like to thank ShopRite of Slingerlands and Wal-Mart for all their donations.

Thank you from all of us.

Editor’s note: Leo Bartell Sr. and his wife have had many foster children who, over the years, have enjoyed the sheriff’s party. This was the 25th year for the program.
