Thirty children enjoy this year’s Teddy Bear Tea

To the Editor:

On Dec. 14, the New Salem Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary hosted its Seventh Annual Teddy Bear Tea with Mrs. Claus. Tea sandwiches, Christmas cookies, tea, and hot chocolate, all prepared by the auxiliary, were enjoyed with the 30 children and 31 adults in attendance.

Mrs. Claus read to the children and answered their questions about the North Pole. A wonderful time was had by all.

Thank you for the support of all the parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends who stayed to enjoy the tea with us.

Thank you to Mrs. Claus, Santa, Elsa from Disney’s Frozen, and the members of both the auxiliary and the fire department who helped make our Teddy Bear Tea such a wonderful community event.  We also would like to thank the many volunteers and elves who gave their time to assist us.

In appreciation, the New Salem Auxiliary would like to thank both the Voorheesville and Guilderland Hannaford Supermarkets and Falvo’s Meat Market in Voorheesville along with ShopRite of Slingerlands for their generous donations of food items for our event.
