To the Editor:

On June 24, Altamont Community Tradition celebrated the beginning of summer with its fourth annual Strawberry Social.

The weather was perfect, the strawberry shortcake was delicious, and the games and balloon art delighted the young and the young at heart.

Many thanks go to our sponsors: Cindy Pollard at the Home Front Café, Altamont Orchards, and  Stewart’s.

Stewart and Ann Linendoll enthusiastically led the games, and MacIntosh (also known as Tom Person) fashioned hats and animal balloons for the event.

Volunteers from the State Employees Federal Credit Union were on hand to serve a crowd of over 200 people.  Thank you, ladies!  As always, the spouses of ACT members also helped to make the event a success.
