Girl Scouts made 350 ornaments and collected 289 items for food bank

To the Editor:

Our Senior Girl Scout Troop 1118, from Service Unit 192, hosted a Christmas ornament-making event for the Regional Food Bank’s Christmas tree. Altogether, 125 Girl Scouts from Guilderland participated and 350 ornaments were made.

We asked the girls to bring a non-perishable food item to the ornament-making event and 289 items were collected for the food pantry!

The Regional Food Bank Christmas tree is located at Crossgates Mall by the Apple Store. When people make a donation to the Food Bank, they hang an ornament on the tree.

Senior Troop 1118 extends its heartfelt thanks to all of the Girl Scouts and leaders who came out to make ornaments. A very special thank-you goes out to the Lynnwood Reformed Church for allowing us to use its fellowship space for this event.
