The LeVie/Hilton Barn is an historic architectural icon within the town of New Scotland located on one of its most traveled roads, Route 85A. Farming dominated the landscape of New Scotland in 1898 when Joseph Hilton asked Frank Osterhout and a force of 160 others to construct this barn of unusual large size.

To the Editor:

Something seemed amiss. When our (late) baby-boomer daughter entered Farnsworth Middle School, its early cultural and educational history was already part of the community conversation.

I meant to write this letter some time ago. As usual, I was lax.

I deeply appreciated and enjoyed, Keith Lee’s book Images of America Altamont. I phoned Keith to tell him what a great book it is and how much I appreciated it.

To the Editor:

I had a thought: wouldn’t it be wonderful if a society and cultural group would settle and live peacefully in America?
