Big Truck Day was a big success

To the Editor:

On behalf of the Guilderland Class of 2016, we would like to take a moment to thank the wonderful businesses that participated in our first Big Truck Day on Saturday, Oct. 12.  We had a phenomenal turnout thanks to the generosity of many local businesses that donated their time and big trucks so kids could see them.

We would personally like to thank Price Chopper, DC Bucket Tree Service, Joe Marks Excavating, Grandview Cement of Schenectady, the Guilderland Center Fire Department, Capital District Transportation Authority, Mr. Ding-a-ling, Greg Weir, Steven Oliver and the Town of Guilderland Highway Department, Clemente Fane Concrete, Advantage Disposal, and the Guilderland Bus Garage.

Thank you to The Altamont Enterprise and the Times Union for covering our event with advertising and pictures.  The weather cooperated and the children had a blast. We look forward to hosting Big Truck Day again next year.
