Grateful for George Pratt’s acts of kindness

To the Editor:

Yesterday, while doing errands in the village (i.e. bank, post office, etc.) I saw George Pratt with his string of range horses in tow (took up a lot of space). They are lovely animals, and as friendly as their owner.

It got me thinking, and I started to remember when Mr. Pratt was the local police chief — I remember how kind he was, especially to the people of high-school age, some of whom looked like they were headed for trouble. He reached out and touched their lives in a personal and helpful way.

He did other acts of kindness, also, like donating food where it was needed. I just want to thank him publicly for all he did.

Thank you, Mr. Pratt!
