Experience the bounty of delicious, locally grown foods and products

To the Editor:

The village of Altamont and the Altamont Farmers’ Market is seeking farmers and vendors for the 2014 upcoming season.  Come give us a try!

While our market is small, residents and folks traveling through our village enjoy purchasing locally grown and locally made products.  The market is located at the Altamont Free Library overhang at the historic Altamont train station in the center of the village.

The Saturday market runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., beginning the first or second week of July through September (depending on availability of products). Vendors need to provide the market with general liability insurance, naming the village of Altamont and the Altamont Free Library as additional insureds.  Vendors are responsible for their own set-up (tent, table, chairs).  The pre-paid fee to participate as a vendor is $40 for the season (approximately eight Saturdays) or $5 per Saturday.

The Altamont Farmers’ Market will be open daily, except on Wednesdays, throughout the season.  Hours of operation are as follows:

— Altamont Orchards: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; and

— Expanded Altamont Farmers’ Market: Open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

To our loyal customers: Make plans to support your local farmers and producers by visiting the Altamont Farmers’ Market throughout the summer to experience the bounty of delicious, locally grown foods and products from our vendors!
