The director of the Guilderland Chamber of Commerce and the chief executive officer of the Guilderland Industrial Development Agency both argued against the moratorium along with a business owner and a resident.

A-Metro Movers is seeking permission to demolish the M&M Motel at 2360 Western Ave. as well as a single-family home on the site recently set aflame by a resident to build 27,000 square feet of self-storage. 

GUILDERLAND — An Albany man was arrested on April 17 for a string of retail thefts in Guilderland.

Damir A. Willis, 27, was taken into custody on a bench warrant and four arrest warrants, all issued from Guilderland Town Court.

“The key to our success,” said Garry Robinson, “is the helpfulness … the knowledge of our staff. That’s the glue that holds this whole thing together.”

On their trek, the women have learned about botany and biology, geology and geography, and history and varying cultures.

GUILDERLAND — Police here were called on Sunday at about 1:145 a.m. for shots fired at Frenches Hollow Road and the Watervliet Reservoir, leading to the arrest of two men and a juvenile for having a stolen weapon.

“The personnel we anticipate using for the investigation are billed at rates between $250 and $400 per hour,” says the Guidepost document. “These rates are substantially lower than our normal billing rates. We recommend setting a budget not to exceed $15,000 in professional fees.”

The planning board has approved a site plan for 12 units of independent senior housing on Carman Road and was presented with a proposal for a 36-child daycare facility on Western Avenue. 

First presented as a 70-lot subdivision in September 2022, then 66 homes just a couple of months later, BM Guilderland LLC is now looking to build a 42-lot subdivision on 87 acres spanning four properties along Route 146. But the pared-down proposal still has residents raising similar concerns.
