Slattery, Rothenberg marry

Leon Rothenberg and Jennifer Slattery

 

Jennifer Slattery and Leon Rothenberg were married on Aug. 9, 2014 at the Baughman Center on the University of Florida campus in Gainesville, Florida.

Jennifer, 38, is the Associate Director of Theater at Fordham University in New York City. She is a graduate from University of Florida, also receiving two master’s degrees — in theater history and criticism from University of Texas, and in stage management from University of California. She is the daughter of James Slattery and Patricia Slattery, and the stepdaughter of Kimberly Slattery of Gainesville, Florida.

Leon Rothenberg, 40, is a Theatrical Sound Designer in New York City. He graduated from Oberlin College and Conservatory and received a master’s of fine arts degree from California Institute of the Arts. He is the son of Richard Rothenberg and Carol Rothenberg and the stepson of the late Patricia Honchar. His mother is a retired Guilderland Elementary School teacher and his father is a professor at the School of Public Health at Georgia State University, Atlanta.

Although residing in New York City, Ms. Slattery and Mr. Rothenberg were separately scheduled to work on A Midsummer Night’s Dream in San Diego where a friendship later developed into a romance.

The couple will continue to reside in Brooklyn, New York.
