WESTERLO — Mr. and Mrs. Kevin McDermott of Westerlo announce the engagement of their daughter, Courtney McDermott, to Eric Markson, son of Jeffrey Markson of Guilderland and Sylvia Cirilo-Flethcher of Ballston Spa.

Ms. McDermott is a 2012 graduate of the State University of New York College of Technology at Delhi with a degree in veterinary science.  She is currently employed by Burrstone Animal Hospital in Utica, as a licensed veterinary technician.

Mr. Markson is a 2013 graduate of SUNY Institute of Technology, Utica with a bachelor’s degree in computer science.  He is currently employed by Northern Safety Company in Utica as an application developer.

A September 2015 wedding in Bermuda is planned.
